MP3 to Text Converter

Convert an MP3 interview, podcast or lesson into text you can search and edit. This workflow transcribes speech rather than changing the audio format. Upload an MP3 directly; converting it to WAV first is usually unnecessary.

Max 5GB per audio, up to 20 tasks in queue.

How to transcribe an MP3 file to text

  1. 1.

Choose the MP3 file and check that its length fits your plan.

  2. 2.

Sign in and select the language spoken in the recording.

  3. 3.

Review names and punctuation, save the corrected transcript and download your chosen format.

MP3 compression and speech

Re-encoding a low-quality MP3 at a higher bitrate does not restore missing sound. Use the clearest available source and review quiet or heavily compressed sections.

Podcasts and spoken notes

Use TXT for notes, SRT for timed captions or VTT for web players. Music without speech will not produce meaningful spoken-word notes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an MP3 recording to text online?

Upload the MP3 directly, sign in and choose the recording's spoken language. After processing, check the transcript against the audio and export a plain TXT file or timed SRT or VTT subtitles.

Can I transcribe an MP3 podcast, lecture or interview?

Yes. Use an MP3 with audible speech. Review technical vocabulary in lectures, quotations in interviews and speaker changes in podcasts. Automatic speaker separation is not currently available.

Does this turn text into an MP3?

No. It converts spoken audio in an MP3 into written text. Text-to-speech is a separate tool.

Can I try transcription for free?

Sign in to use the Free plan: 30 transcription minutes per month, with a maximum of 15 minutes per recording. Paid plans provide higher allowances. Your available quota is checked before processing.

Which exports are available?

Review the completed transcript, then download TXT, SRT or VTT. You can correct words and timestamps before exporting. DOCX export and automatic speaker separation are not currently available.

How long does processing take?

Time depends on the recording duration, upload speed and processing queue. A 5 GB upload limit is not a promise that every plan accepts an unlimited recording duration.
